The Perahera features beautifully adorned elephants , drummers , dancers , fire – eaters , and acrobats , all parading through the streets in honor of the sacred tooth relic of Lord Buddha . The procession takes place over ten days , with the final five days being the most elaborate .
This event is a must – see for anyone visiting Sri Lanka , as it provides a unique insight into the customs and traditions of the island nation . In addition to the Perahera , Sri Lanka offers delicious Ceylon cuisine and a diverse range of natural resources , including waterfalls , beaches , misty mountain ranges , national parks , and rainforests .
DAY 1 - Airport - Pinnawala - Sigiriya - 185 KM / 4 hr 20m.
Upon Arrival our Representative will receive you from the Airport and drive straight to Pinnawala
Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, home to the world’s largest troupe of captive, tamed and trained elephants. Either you could observe the baby elephants being bottled fed or enjoy the experience of bottle feeding the baby elephants. Close-up encounters with orphaned elephants at Pinnawala will be a memory that will stay with you for a life time.

DAY 1
Sigiriya
DAY 2 - Sigirya Day Excursion / 10 - 12 hrs.
Sigiriya rock fortress which is also known as ‘ ‘ Lion rock ‘ is located in the central province and is famous for its palace , ruins on top of a massive 200 meter high rock surrounded by the remains of an extensive network of gardens , reservoirs and other structures .In the late 5th Century Sigiriya was built up by ‘ King kashyapa ‘ in the shape of a monumental lion intending it to be a safeguard from the potential attacks from his brother Moggallana , the rightful heir to the throne .
In 1982 Sigiriya was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site also referred to as the 8th Wonder of the world by locals .

DAY 2

DAY 3 - Sigiriya to Kandy - 90km / 2hrs 30min
Kandy, the hill capital of Sri Lanka and the second largest city in the island. Kandy is also the country’s religious and cultural center. Kandy which is a UNESCO declared World Heritage City. The city was developed in the 14th century and became the capital of the Kingdom of Kandy in the l6th century.
Kandy continues the living tradition of the arts and crafts, music and dance and song which flourished continuously in the island nation for centuries.

DAY 4 - Kandy - Kithulgala - Nuwara Eliya 135 KM / 4 hr 15 m.
Nuwara Eliya that’s also known as “Little England” by the locals. Layers of mountains covered in tea plantations surround this beautiful quaint retreat covered in mist and cool weather. Many plants that you cannot find in other cities in Sri Lanka are grown here and, as a result many vegetables, fruits and flowers are grown by the locals.

DAY 4
Nuwara Eliya
DAY 6 - Nuwara Eliya to Ella - 60 KM / 1 hr 50min.
Ella is a quaint little hill town located in the Badulla district of the Uva Province in Sri Lanka. It is regarded as one of the most beautiful places to visit in the island. Ella is surrounded by hills covered with cloud forests and tea plantations. The town also offers stunning mountain hikes and lovely waterfalls. The town is most famous for its iconic nine arches railway bridge which is a fine example of colonial-em construction in Sri Lanka.
Climb up Little Adam’s Peak or walk along the railroad on the Nine Arch Bridge, enjoy the endless tea plantations or get a shower under the Ravana waterfall or hike up the trail leading to the Ella Rock to enjoy the awe-inspiring view of the endless valleys, Ella has something for even, kind of a traveler.

DAY 6
Ella
DAY 7 - Ella to Yala - 115 KM / 2 hr 30m.
Yala is a nature reserve and the most visited, second biggest national park situated in Sri Lanka’s south east hugging the panoramic Indian Ocean. Reserve has a protected area of 130,000 hectares consisting of light forests, scrubs, grasslands, tanks and lagoons. Early days, the park used as a hunting ground under British rule. At present Yala has become the home to 44 varieties of mammals and 215 bird species.
Among those mare famous residents are the native of leopards, elephants, sloth bears, sambars, jackals, spotted dears, peacocks and crocodiles. The best time to visit Yala is from February to July when the water levels of the park are low, bringing animals into the open.

DAY 7
Yala
DAY 8 - Yala to Mirissa - 135 KM / 2 hr 30m.
Mirissa is a gen, of the south coast of Sri Lanka renowned among tourists for its pristine coastline, where you can experience surfing, snorkeling and whale watching, Expeditions, vibrant nightlife and mouth-watering delicacies. Ayurvedic centers of Massage that will help you reach nirvana.

DAY 8
Mirissa
DAY 10 - Mirissa to Bentota - 95 KM / 1 hr 50m.
Bentota’s sandy beaches, extensive lagoon and exciting water sports have made this resort town famous. The best time to visit this city is from November to April, as the calm seas are ideal for snorkelling, diving, sailing, and wind-surfing.

DAY 11 - Bentota to Colombo - 105 KM / 1 hr 30m.
Colombo is the capitol city of Sri Lanka, which lies 30 mins drive south of Colombo International Airport.
It’s a city of contrasts; it is both an eclectic mix of wonderful hotels and swanky office blocks, neighboring beautiful red-colored colonial-era buildings. Sprawling busy streets and markets with fragrant spices, colorful silks, cottons and fresh fruit and vegetables.
